RULES & REGULATIONS

A maximum of 8000 ducks will be entered into the race at this time. It's at the discretion of the Duck Derby committee if more will be entered.
Ducks will be launched at the Bridge geoing into Dexter at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Saturday June 7, 2025, and finish near the Village Docks. The Duck Derby Committee reserves the right, in its discretion, to postpone, or reschedule the event because of inclement weather, the river conditions are too dangerous, acts of God, or other circumstances beyond control.
All ducks entered will be provided by the Duck Derby Committee, and shall remain the property of the Duck Derby Committee.
Once the ducks are launched, they are on their own. No attempt to free or interfere with any duck is permitted, unless deemed by the Duck Derby Committee.
A number will be marked on each duck corresponding to each number of entries issued. Multiple duck entries from one purchase will be assigned additional duck numbers for identification. The person's name that appears on the entry corresponding to the first ten ducks completing the race in order at the finish line will be awarded prizes. The Duck Derby Committee reserves the right to draw for prizes if the race is cancelled for any reason whatsoever (see Rule #2). The drawing, if any, will be held at the Dexter American Legion. A list of prizes can be obtained from the Duck Derby Committee by sending a written request thereto, and a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Dexter Duck Derby, c/o The Sons of the Amerian Legion #583, PO Box 237, Dexter, NY 13634
The Duck Derby reserves the right, at its sole option, to substitute prizes at comparable value.
The combined value of all the prizes shall be at least $5,500 with 1st Place being $1,000, 2nd Place being $900, 3rd Place being $800, 4th Place being $700, 5th Place being $600, 6th Place being $500, 7th Place being $400, 8th Place being $300, 9th Place being $200 and 10th Place being $100.
All duck sale entries must be received by the Duck Derby Committee by 11 am, June 7, 2025, in order to be eligible to win prizes. Entrants assume the risk of non-delivery of any entries to the Duck Derby Committee or authorized representatives of the Duck Derby Committee.
By entering The Dexter Duck Derby, contestants agree and consent to all rules and regulations herein and/or those additionally adopted by the Duck Derby Committee.
Winners will be announced approximately 4:00 p.m on the day of the race. Results will also be posted on our website. Winners will be notified either by US mail, telephone or email. Race entrants need not be present to win. A list of winners can be obtained from the Duck Derby Committee by sending a written request for the same, with a self-addressed, stamped return envelope to the address listed in Rule #5. Should any race winner fail to claim his/her prize from the Duck Derby Committee, prior to July 8, 2025, the Duck Derby Committee shall select a substitute winner through a random drawing of remaining entries. All prizes will be awarded.
No cash equivalent prizes will be provided in lieu of designated prizes. Any and all taxes and similar fees are the responsibility of the winner.
All entrants must be at least 18 years old. By entering, individuals and/or entities release the Duck Derby Committee and its members, agents, employees, volunteers and any other related individuals and/or entities and/or sponsors from any and all liability with respect to prizes and any and all matters arising out of this context.
Names who purchased the chances must be aged 18 years or older. Positive identification is required to claim any prizes won.
Chances of winning depend on the total number of qualified entries.
This event is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations, and further, is void, where prohibited by law.
Be entering, winners consent to the promotional use of their names, pictures and/or likenesses without additional compensation. You agree to have your picture and name posted on any social media outlets including our website www.dexterduckderby.com, Facebook and Instagram.
The conduct of the race, the determination of the winners, and the random drawing for additional prizes, if any, will be verified by the Dexter American Legion. All decisions and interpretations of rules and regulations will be made by the Duck Derby Committee and its judgment will be considered final.
The Dexter Duck Derby and it's various logos, trademarks, copyrights, service marks and marketing materials are the sole property of the Duck Derby Committee and no other individual or entity shall be authorized to copy, or otherwise use without the express written consent of the Duck Derby Committee.
